Перевод: abridgment
[существительное] сокращение; сокращенный текст; краткое изложение; сокращенное издание; конспект ; ограничение [существительное]
Тезаурус:
- On 12 October 1738, as "B.B. Philo Physiologiae", he issued proposals in the Daily Advertiser for subscribers to this work which was then printed for him by Godfrey Smith in ten volumes, plus plates, between 1738 and 1741, under the title of Memoirs of the Royal Society; being a new Abridgment of the Philosophical Transactions for the years 1665 to 1735.
- But as the limits of the human memory did not enable men to retain beyond a very limited number of names; and even if it had, as it would have required a most inconvenient portion of time, to run over in discourse, as many names of individuals, and of individual qualities, as there is occasion to refer to in discourse, it was necessary to have contrivances of abridgment.
- Among the most important early sources are Fitzherbert's Abridgment (1516) and Coke's Institutes of the Law of England (1628-1644).
